If you mean, it never worked.

then, why it is showing on 5.5.3
I tried again and you can see in the image that right side of timeline is also taking autoHeight.

If it was never intended to work, then why its showing properly here?

Hello Tasnim,

You have closed https://github.com/bryntum/support/issues/9145 as this is fixed in 5.6.11 version.
Today we tried with 5.6.11 version autoHeight true, but its still not working and still getting same result as previous.

Attaching screenshot of the demo from example of 5.6.11

^^ We have added autoHeight = true for name column.

Here is the link to above demo - https://bryntum.com/products/gantt/examples/bigdataset/

Please have a look and let us know, why it's not working.

If you check the console, you might see warning there telling you that column autoHeight cannot be used along with fixedRowHeight.

GridBase.js:1694 One or more columns have autoHeight set, which is incompatible with fixedRowHeight.

If you want to use autoHeight on a column, set the fixedRowHeight to false on gantt. https://bryntum.com/products/gantt/docs/api/Grid/view/GridBase#config-fixedRowHeight

    columns : [{ type : 'name', width : 250, autoHeight:true}],
    fixedRowHeight: false,
