We have just had our Odoo partner update us to the latest version 16.0.2.0.8, we are using Odoo Enterprise V16.

On install and proven on a blank test instance, they have the following issues:

  • The config for the module has Auto scheduling and User assignment checked, and Readonly projects and Save WBS values unchecked.

  • When we open a project in the Bryntum Gannt view, setting a start date on an existing task that has no start date or duration set, it gives an error of:
"Server response: One parameter is missing to use this method. You should give a start and end dates."

With User assignment checked in the config, it's supposed to use users as the base resource. However, when trying to set the assigned resource, it shows both users and employees in the dropdown. If you assign a User and an Employee and refresh the page, it only shows the Employee as being assigned to the task. If only a user is set as the resource, nothing is saved and the task remains unassigned.

The module only seems to allow for Employees to be assigned to a task and attempts to completely replace the base Odoo "Assignees" field with its own "Employees" field which leads to incompatibility with other modules/developments.

I would appreciate comments and feedback on these issues.

If (likely) easier to deal directly, our devs email is:

Thanks

Hi Kevin,

Thank you for reporting this. I see you mention you're updated to version 16.0.2.0.8, but this is not the latest version. We're now on Version 16.0.2.1.14.

Could you update to that version and let me know if any of the described issues above are still there?

Niels

Apologies we are currently testing version 16.0.2.1.12 but as advised I have downloaded version 16.0.2.1.14 for them to try first

Thanks
Kevin

We have now tested 16.0.2.1.14 and all our original issues remain.

We are using Odoo Enterprise V16 and these issues are:

The config for the module has Auto scheduling and User assignment checked, and Readonly projects and Save WBS values unchecked.

When we open a project in the Bryntum Gannt view, setting a start date on an existing task that has no start date or duration set, it gives an error of:

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for getting back on that.

  1. Start and end date error:
I've made notes on the existing start and end date task.

  2. Use users as base resource with 'User Assignment' checked:
A task has been created for this and will be handled.

I can't provide an ETA, due to existing tasks in line to be fixed, but I'll keep you posted on when there are developments.

Still no update on this? Would appreciate any timeline you could give me

Hi Kevin,

The Start- and end Date + User issues are pretty serious and requires a big overhaul of how Gantt interacts with Odoo currently. Work continues on this, but weaving a coherent line through is a complicated process. Currently, I can't give you an ETA on it other than we haven't forgotten about this and it's on our radar still.

Hi Kevin,

We released Version 16.0.2.1.15 which solves the start date and end date issue: It is now synced to how core Odoo handles it in v.16.

Here's how it works: Create a new task, go into Gantt View Pro, and drag the required time on the timeline. Go back to the task and you'll now see the Planned Date field on the task, which you can adjust to your liking.

I've attached a video that shows how it works.

We're still working on the users replaced by employees task.
