We have an odd issue: we can see all tasks except one in the Gantt view. However, if you filter for its specific name, the task in question appears. Here is a screencast of the issue; see task 1.24.

On another note, when the app is updated do we receive an alert to install the latest version?

Hi Joe,

seen the screencast - that's interesting.

Question - is it always the last task that's not showing? What happens if you add a new task 1.25 ?

About the updates - yes, the Odoo App Store should send you an email when an update is released. You can also go to the App Store entry of the module and scroll down and check the Changelog - we update that with the new version number and the fixes that were released.

Hello, this is an odd behavior. If I add a new task, the missing task appears, and a new task is not created; now that the disappeared task appears, I can add new tasks using the button. I suspect there might be some bug.

On another note, I wanted to highlight a few more things I noticed:

The Odoo native task planned start and the Gantt start date appear to sync; however, the native deadline and Gantt end date do not. Due to this issue, the deadline/end dates in additional views, such as Kanban and the calendar, are incorrect. Can this be fixed?

The Odoo native state field and the Gantt done % field do not align, and there appears to be no way to mark a task as done from the Gantt view and vice versa. I also recommend having some way of visually identifying a task that is 100% done.

The Gantt layout does appear to save newly added columns when you exit the view, and they seem to reset back to the default when you navigate back to the Gantt view.

The Odoo native allocated time fields do not, and the Gantt effort time fields do not. It would be great if they could so we may compare actual vs. budgeted when running reports.

Besides these few items, the module is great, and I appreciate that you published this to Odoo.

Thanks for the bug reports - we're going to look into it.

I am reporting another bug. The module uses the employees vs the assignee field and appears to update the views as needed, except for one window. The sub-tasks field shows the assignees field instead of the employees field, and I don't see a way to adjust this.

As to your last comment - you're correct, this is also something that needs to be fixed.

Currently we'll be picking up the first bug (task not visible) and second bug/wish (deadline and end date field should align) with high priority, and the rest after.

Meanwhile, you could already use Odoo Studio to swap the subtask assignees field for the employees, if this is urgent to you.

Hi Joe,

A new version of the Gantt View has been released: Version 17.0.2.1.17, which fixes the disappearing task issue you reported.

We're continuing with the others and will report once another is solved.

Have a great day.

Niels

Hi Joe,

Version 17.0.2.1.20 has just been released, which fixes the sync between the native deadline and Gantt end date you addressed. Changing it in the Gantt, on a task itself, or the calendar will adjust it everywhere else, too. Feel free to download and check.
