this is probably possible using the JSON calendar config, as the weekends can be colored, too. However, I couldn't find a description.
I want to colorize a specific month (December) to visualize a warning to avoid putting important milestones near to a year's end.
How would I have to go about this?

I looked into this, and sadly it doesn't seem possible through the Gantt Configuration Object alone, it appears to need some CSS and javascript work on the backend, too, in order to call the months and make it possible to add a color to them.
What I've done is added this request to an existing task that will add the ability to give tasks a color, as this is adjacent to that. It won't be picked up for a while, but it's on the board and I'll keep you posted on when we're picking it up.
