I am currently planning our projects with the tool for the first time. What is not quite clear to me is the interaction between the hours set for a task in the sales order and those in the planning view of the Gantt tool. I would like to take over the time expenditure per task from the sales order so that the resource planning is automatically distributed over the planning period. I have also noticed that the time recording of the Odoo tasks does not match the time spent or the progress in the Gantt view or that no data is transferred.

Many thanks in advance!

Hi Eliasfink,

Currently, the hours set on task on the Odoo side and the duration on the Bryntum side are not connected. We have a task in our pipeline that will be picked up in due time. Can not give an ETA for it, because there are many other tasks planned before it. I will keep you posted when this has been included in an update.

Ok thank you. is there a possibility to push the current standings one time?

I have another question. Is there a possibility to use the field “Assigned to/Responsible person” to take over the field Employee which is needed for the Gantt-Tool? Otherwise, all tasks are without a responsible person when they are transferred.

Hi Eliasfink,

If there was time in the pipeline, I would. But currently, many other fixes are ahead of it that have been awaiting a fix longer and can't be ignored.

The Employee (and Assignee) field(s) is something we've changed a lot over the last year, we're still not completely satisfied with it ourselves and have another task for it in our pipeline that might possibly render your request moot. There will be a refactor at some point.
On this point, though, which version of Odoo are you using?

Ok, we are using Odoo 17 by far. According to the assignee-problem, we have lots of different tasks and projects which are assigned to our employees if we cannot change the assignee/employee settings it is not possible to for us to implement bryntum efficientlly.

Hi Elias,

can you explain to us your need exactly? In 17 we already have two settings:

  1. "Replace users with employees" -> This setting, when switched on, hides the Assignees field from all views and replaces it with Employees. This is not what you want, because you want tasks to have a responsible (Assignee) and resources (Employees). Might it be switched on in your case, where you would rather have it switched off?

  2. "User assignment" -> This setting allows to assign users as resources instead of employees. This should be switched off in your case.

Can you check these settings and if they don't do what you want, can you explain to us what is missing?

Hi Elias,

A small update concerning the selection of res.users: I checked out res.users and the 'replace user_ids by employee_ids in views' setting, and found that it's currently not working as it should and doesn't display res.users.

I've created a task to fix this and will let you know once this fix has been released.
