Hey guys,

sorry for the news. We tried to implement 17.0.2.1.30 but ran into an "Undefined" missing column user_css" error.
We tried to upgrade from .26 and from .29 on 3 different systems. (Odoo CE 17)

Best regards
caalb

Hello, thanks for the report.
we never had in our code a column called user_css, nor we use that variable name anywhere in code.
this is true for previous versions as well.

The only reason this instance is looking for a column that does not exist in the data i can think of is the custom user config.

Please paste your user config, so we can check if there is something there that might cause this.
You can also experiment by temporarily removing the config, and checking if everything works again.,

Ah. so the field name is bryntum_css , not user_css. that is good news. Res_users should have that field.
This indicates that the installation of the module was incomplete, or interrupted for some reason.

I have verified the code, and it is correctly defined on res_users. when attempting to fetch it , it should be successfull. the only reason this may be failing is that your database update was partial or you had an error during update.

A clean istallation will make all work, but if you uninstall the module, you will lose bryntum-specific data, so be careful (assignments, links, and other data will be lost) . Please update it , and if the update is not successfull send us the complete log of what went wrong.

If your update is failing , this may be database-specific or customization-specific.

Hi there,

that's actually the issue. We want to upgrade from 17.0.2.1.29 to 17.0.2.1.30. But as soon as we replace the 29 module with the 30 module an "Internal Server Error" occurrs.
A "clean install" is not an option as we would lose all data.

At the moment it does not seem possible to upgrade from 29 to 30 as this column appears to be required prior to the possibility to actually run the upgrade from the Odoo 17 CE UI.

Best

Hi Caalb,

We're checking this out, but can't find a correlation yet. Therefore, a couple more questions for you:

  • Could you share with us the full log file of
    odoo -u bryntum --stop-after-init
  • When updating from .29 to .30, what is your update method?
  • When you go into settings/models/res_users, do you see the presence of bryntum_css of type selection?
  • Are you working with multiple databases?

Please send your answers to odoosupport@bryntum.com. Looking forward to your reply.

Cheers,

Niels
