Hi,
we had a look on the critical paths in backwards scheduling and according to our understanding we came to the conclusion, that the total slack for task "G" in the example below is wrong:
We think, the early start/end of task G is wrong. As consequence, the calculated total slack is also wrong.
Task G has two predecessors, F and C.
The early start of G should be calculated with the early end date of task C, because this is later than the early end date of F.
I.e. the early start of G should be 20th Feb. 2019 instead of 27th Feb. 2019.
The early end of G should be 27th Feb. 2019 instead of 6th March 2019.
Total slack should be therefore 5 days instead of 0 days.
Due to this, task G should not be on the critical path.
We tested it with forward and backwards scheduling.
The calculation is correct for forward scheduling.
The Early start/end, Late start/end should be unchanged, even if the schedule direction is changed.
To reproduce our example you can use the attached "src" folder for the advanced example of Gantt 7.1.1.
Do you agree or is there a misunderstanding on our side in our calculation?
Thanks in advance!
