But you're right, there is nothing about app.component.scss. There are no requirements where exactly should that be placed, it was mentioned to demonstrate it works well in very simple application, so that doesn't look like our bug. I think you just need to check/compare the order or loading CSS in your initial app and make sure all paths are correct.
