I've closed that issue. Local filtering is not currently supported when lazy loading. And IIRC remote filtering is not supported when using the CrudManager/Project to load data.
To use remote filtering and lazy load, check this demo:

It doesn't use remote filtering, but remote sorting, but the concept is the same.
