Hello,

I’ve encountered a serious issue with the Gantt View Pro module.

When I press the "New Task" button inside the Gantt view, it correctly creates a task the first time.
However, if I press "New Task" again without refreshing, it shows that a task has been created—but nothing is actually saved. After refreshing, the second task is not there.

This breaks the core functionality of task creation and makes the module unreliable for continuous use.

Hello,
We have replicated your video with

  • same browser
  • two projects open
  • creating from top level project as you did.

In our case we have the second, third tasks saved and also the have the default date when creating...
So we see no problem here. Also it loads on first click.

I can see from the video that when you create your second task your "undo" button counter does not increment, after the first creation, while ours does, this means your second and third creation does not trigger anything in the backend. on the second and third creation, nothing is triggered.

There may be a bug connected to your specific data we do not have.

Questions:

      1 - could you send me your debug log from browser?
      2 - are you on the latest version? 17.0.2.1.27   or 18.0.2.1.27   (it does not matter wich odoo you are on , pls confirm you are on
                  XX.0.2.1.27         
      3. does this happen with all projects? does it happen with a new project you just created?

With your answers we will be able to understand the origin of your specific problem , we also have new versions coming up that also improve several aspects of stability and functionality.

as we could not replicate , in any use-case, we could not provide a specific fix. But the next version will have a quite big rewrite of AddTask, and of general project management, so i think it is possible that your specific case might be solved anyway.

in the meantime if you can send me the answers to my questions we might understand something more.

i can confirm that on our demo instances create works as many times needed.

Yes — the issue occurs on all projects, including newly created ones.

🐞 Bug #1 – "New Task" Only Works Once
In Gantt view, the first task is created successfully using “New Task.”
However, if I press it a second time (without refreshing), it appears to create a task, but it’s not saved. After refreshing, the task disappears.

🐞 Bug #2 – Gantt Task Panel Not Clickable
Now I’ve encountered a second issue:
On the left side of the Gantt view, where the task list appears:

I can no longer click on tasks

I cannot edit task names, change duration, or open task details

It seems like the left-hand task grid becomes completely unresponsive.

I would really appreciate scheduling a Zoom call with someone from your team to look into this issue together.

I'm not a developer, and these bugs are blocking us from using the module as intended. I’ve already tried troubleshooting, but I need hands-on support to resolve it properly.

we were able to replicate on 18a. debugging and working on a fix, thank you for your report.

could you confirm your module version (odoo module version) is 18.0.1.0.5 ?

i have replicated many of your errors with experimental versions that have not been released still. The latest 18 version is: https://apps.odoo.com/apps/modules/18.0/bryntum_gantt 18.0.1.05. but you are reporting 18.0.2.1.27 wich has not been released, and is the sub-numbering of the v17 version.

I have concerns you have in some way installed a non-stable version, because the plethora of errors you report are not present in demo instances.

Please confirm your module version, and if possible , give me som background on how did you get 18.0.2.1.27 unrelease version, 17.0.2.1.27 does exist, but the numbering of v18 is completely different.

Hello,

I’d like to request a refund for the Gantt View Pro module.

I’m not a developer and I can’t go into the technical details needed to fix the bugs I’m facing. The module isn’t working as expected, and it’s been very difficult to use in this state.

Hi nikolas, due to Odoo app store policy we can't offer you a refund directly, you have to do this via the Odoo store. Odoo will then refund you.
